The League

About Us

The PRCL is an all-inclusive league open to gay, lesbian, bisexual, trans-gendered curlers of all skill levels. New members are encouraged and welcome to join this social/recreational league (Overview of curling).

To start Round One, teams are divided into six divisions based on experience and previous years' placement, then into six 'points-based' divisions for subsequent rounds. This allows the more experienced / competitive teams and recreationally-based teams to play against each other.

Bonspiels and Other Events

  • Registration, held in late August, is an opportunity to meet fellow curlers in a social setting.
  • The Pink Broom, a one-day November funspiel, provides an excellent opportunity for new members to meet and to curl with different people.
  • For almost 30 years, the PRCL has held the Pac Rim Cup early in the new year. GLBT curling teams from across Canada and the U.S. often participate in this event. In 2012, the PRCL will host the Canadian Gay Curling Championships (Nationals) along with the Pac Rim Cup.
  • The season Wind-Up includes prizes for the top performing teams and the Annual General Meeting.

Where We Curl

The PRCL curls at the Vancouver Curling Club located at the new Hillcrest Centre at 4575 Clancy Loranger Way on Sunday afternoons (12:00, 2:20 pm) and Monday evenings (rotate 6:45, 9:05 pm).
